STATEMENT REGARDING LEGAL CHALLENGES (January 23, 2007)The Environmental Impact Report for Riverside Motorsports Park was approved and certified by the Merced County Board of Supervisors in December 2006. Since that time, two legal challenges were filed during the 30-day period provided by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA Law). The challenges seek additional mitigation to the impact(s) identified. Riverside Motorsports Park's CEQA attorneys and Environmental Consultants fully support the integrity and accuracy of the research and analysis documented in the 10,000+ pages of the EIR, and Riverside Motorsports Park remains confident in the strength of its findings.
Yeah, a 10K page report, what a bunch of garbage!
Thanks for the up-date. Can't wait for that track!
Before it's all done, they will find some migrating bird that beds down for the night while enroute to the Monterey track. I thought we shipped all our environmentalist to Oregon. Believe me, those birds will find a place to roost!!!!!!!!
Hey Mike, don't be so negative, that's my job !! I predicted 12-18 months ago, they wouldn't turn dirt before..... I forget, but probably 09 and the opening day would be in 2011. Could happen a little quicker depending on what the requested mitigation is and how deep their pockets are.
A 10,000 page EIR is kinda on the short side for a1200 acre site and the county wide impacts both good and bad.
Anyway, since I'm not a young man like you and Siro, I ain't holding my breath.
BTW, I when to the doctor today for double shoulder pain. MRI Tuesday for possible doulble shoulder rotatar cuff tears and probable surgery, won't know for sure until after next doctors app't.......always...... SOMETHING!
Now that my race car is getting done my body is breaking down. I hope it's just a pulled muscle(s).
