Hello NCRC members,
We would like to hear your thoughts on what our Time Trial schedule should be for ’07.
Time Trials on all seven confirmed events?Only on weekend events?Only on weekend events plus Laguna?Keep it on the first day of our two-day events?Etc…
Also, we’re thinking of adding an interesting twist next season by having the Reno-Fernley time trial be a double-points event.
Thanks in advance.
Alex:
I'll start the ball rolling. I think the more TT dates the better, regardless of the day of the week or location. I personally prefer weekends, but I don't think you should try to restrict the TTs to weekends. The double points at Fernley would be fun. It would probably get me motivated to "go over the hill". I've been wanting to run that track anyway. Regarding 2-day events: maybe you could mix it up; sometimes do it the first day, sometimes the second day. My opinions are not strong...except that I really like the time trials and hope they will continue,
Thanks for all your work on this.
Steve
Alex, Steve took my words right out of my mouth!
I agree completely and would add, if one per week-end, it should be the first day. I would love 10 or more, but we have to be realistic and fair to the working world. So I say, let's have one each week-end track period, on the first day, but have one every track period, which would be 7-10 or so! I can't go to LS, doesn't mean I say no Seca, but wouldn't hurt my feelings!
Hey, by the way this year the Series Winners got track credit of $200; second $100; third $50. Now that really helps and makes it worth while.
Thanks NCRC for the credit awards, that is just AWESOME! Total AWE!!!!
You should take note of this and other little things that pay. Say for instance, the last three years I have over $200 for new members; $520 for free days (11th track day is free) and $200 for winning GT-2 TT. Now that's $920 to my credit. So you deduct that from my 3 yr track fees and find out my track days are about $200. Some people are even better than this, say you work for the club, etc.
Show me another club that does credit $ awards for so many things!
Be cool to have a tire contingency, like Kumho bucks, Hoosier dollars, Maypops by Bald Eagle incl's free patches, etc.
Thanks for the opportunity to respond.
Well I don’t participate in the time trials but I have an idea, How about if there are, say 10 time trials, you use your best 7 for the over all points?
This would allow every one a chance to miss a couple of events but remain competitive.
Just a thought.
Dan
Hi Dan, They drop the lowest 3 TT's by the rules for yr end points. So if 7, only 4 are graded. For instance, this yr I didn't do LS, blew a clutch in Reno and cancelled BW, my three!
Kinda of why I would like 10 or so, instead of 7! Alex, how about TEN or so, I forgot about the drops!
You should run them Dan, get ARC and TT $ credits. I can't wait to get my race car going to do both, has been a long haul, should have taken your advise and just bought the Panoz. Would have been money ahead!
Siro, I agree and my race car don't have lights either!
Hey Dennis, second time I see something about you not going......what's happening (if you don't mind sharing)?...........just wondering! I know s*it happens!
I hear ya! I also sold a bunch of stuff this year, about 7K worth and I might have to sell my '93 to fund this yr, after this Cobra deal gets thru. I'm setting it up for NASA AI specs, but will fit in ITE, if I add HP and ARC for sure. Not sure what HP it has until dyno test, if over AI's 9.5-1, I'll go AIX, which is unlimited and any tire, fits ITE better too! I hate thick rule books, I guess that's why AI/AIX/ITE/ARC is to my liking. ITE is the smallest, one paragraph! Can get expensive tho, with no restrictions!
good luck and Take care
Alex/NCRC, One other thought would be less drops, if less than 10 events. Say like two drops less than 10 and 3 if 10 and more. Seems like 3 is too many for 7-8 events. My 2 cents......
Is the week-end of Apr 28/29 both TT's or just Sat? If both we have 8, if just Sat we have 7.
Thanks for asking our input.
