my M6, Z51-equipped vette has racked up 37K funfilled miles and i'm ready to replace the stock shocks with something better......so far i've narrowed it down to using C6 Z06 shocks or one of the two available Bilsteins, HD or Sport.....(i'm thinking that the $1K+ Koni shocks, or other adjustable shocks, are a little over the top for me)
i get out to an NCRC road course event about 3 or 4 times per year.....plus, i really enjoy a fairly tight, solid handling car for everyday driving......i wouldn't mind the new shocks being, say, 20% or so stiffer than the stock Z51 shocks, but i put on too many regular street miles to want anything that would be too jarring......also, i lowered my car about 1" from stock
has anyone had experience with any of these 3 shocks on a vette? can you give me a SOTP description of how they compare to each other?
what i've read on the CorvetteForum is that the Bilstein Sports are 15% stiffer than the Bilstein HDs, but no one says how the HDs compare to the Z51 shocks.....and i've yet to hear where the C6 Z06 shocks would place in this ranking....
