Re: HIGHWAY SURVIVAL CLASS FOR TEEN?

My daughter has done both the Jim Russell and the Skip Barber classes. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Skip Barber. It is a full-day class, and they work the kids the whole time. There is no "skid car," but rather they wet down the paddock and the kids practise recovery under real-world conditions. Again and again and again! A much more demanding program than the Jim Russell, which is a half-day course with a skid car (hydraulically-actuated outboard wheels raise the car up, making it more difficult to control, but resembling a car in a skid not at all!).
My daughter confessed that it has already saved her from an accident . . .
Now, if you ask my opinion of the racing courses, it's exactly the opposite. I've taken the advanced courses at both SB and JR, and JR was far and away the better.
Robert.
